From Bob Dearborn's The Olde Disc Jockey's Almanac today...
"June 14, 1966…The Beatles recorded "Here, There And Everywhere." Paul McCartney, John Lennon and producer George Martin all said it was one of their favorite Beatles songs. In 2000, it was ranked the 4th greatest song of all time by Mojo magazine."
It's also been used as the first dance at countless weddings, including the wedding of my buddy Stu and his wife Pam. (Bridget and I used "And I Love Her" because our band didn't know how to play this one.) The Beatles were never filmed performing the song, but Paul was...

What were you doing exactly 45 years ago today? The Beatles were in the studio recording the song "Good Day Sunshine."

Eleanor Rigby
According to Bob Dearborn's The Olde Disc Jockey Almanac, on this day in 1966 the Beatles completed work on "Eleanor Rigby." That's really a Paul song, and he later included it in his (incredibly awful) film "Give my Regards to Broadstreet."

McCartney at Wrigley?
The Sun Times published the rumors I've been hearing, which is that they have two dates set aside at Wrigley for Paul McCartney concerts later this summer. (Details here).
I should note that nothing is being confirmed, but...it sure sounds like it really could happen. There will be suckers willing to pay quite a lot of money for tickets to see that show. I look in the mirror at one of them every day.

Paul is engaged again
Paul McCartney is engaged to be married again, but there are a few hopeful signs that this one will work out.
#1--she's 51. That's still younger than Paul (pushing 70), but waaay closer to his actual age than the last hussy.
#2--his kids approve. Anyone that has ever been re-married will tell you that's a huge hurdle to overcome.
I bet Sir Paul will make this one sign a prenup too.

Steven Tyler Releases New Book - Talks about Idol, and Doing Drugs with Joe Perry in Rolling Stone Cover
"the unbridled truth, the in-your-face, up-close and prodigious tale of Steven Tyler straight from the horse's lips ... All the unexpurgated, brain-jangling tales of debauchery, sex & drugs, transcendence & chemical dependence you will ever want to hear."Tyler, 63, also says that he did drugs with guitarist Joe Perry in 2008 after many years of both of them being sober.
“Joe Perry was so impaired by snorting prescription pills, he couldn't even play his instrument. But I was no better - I couldn't sing.”Tyler says he is sober now and enjoying his time as the newest American Idol judge, and would like to get the guys of Aerosmith back together for another run at making an album.Tyler last appeared on the cover of Rolling Stone's Magazine in the August 1976 issue.Watch Steven Tyler Sing Medley of Beatles Songs for Paul McCartney

Foo Fighters & The Beatles

The Foo Fighters did a show on the stage of the Ed Sullivan Theater from exactly the same place the Beatles performed 45+ years earlier (Where David Letterman's show is taped every night). The Foo Fighters dressed like the Beatles, used a Beatles-esque drum riser, and paid tribute to them in another odd way.
Dave Grohl took off his shoes.
What's the significance of that? Click here to find out. (Video of the entire show is at the link too)

Revolver Sessions
From Bob Dearborn's The Olde Disc Jockey Alamac. 45 years ago today...
Love "Revolver." Some say it's the best album of all time. This is how it was received at the time it came out...
April 7, 1966…At Abbey Road studios in London, the Beatles recorded overdubs for John Lennon's "Tomorrow Never Knows" and Paul McCartney's "Got to Get You Into My Life" for their forthcoming "Revolver" album.

The Beatles on The Simpsons
Twenty years ago today Ringo Starr appeared on "The Simpsons." You can watch the video here. It was probably the funniest of all the Beatle appearances on the show. Judge for yourself...
Here's John (from Heaven)...
Here's Paul (and Linda)...
Here's George...
And the Family Guy managed to have all four of them at once...
