The Oscar Nominees (+ Mo'nique's dress)

Oh, what the heckity-hey. Everyone else is doing it.
Tadashi Shoji Spring 2011 Collection
Darlings, Mo'nique (looking slimmed-down and fabulous in a Tadashi Shoji dress) got up early and announced the Oscar nominees along with the Academy president, who is not important for the purposes of this post. We always wondered what they have to dangle in front of these actors to get them to agree to get up at whatever ungodly hour they have to get up so they can look red carpet ready by 8 AM EST. They don't get paid for it, right? Is it that big an honor to be asked? Discuss. And now we're going to pretend we're presenters at an awards show. Are you ready, darlings? Picture us in matching D&G tuxes. Here we go."And the nominees are..."

We made a promise, like Scarlett O'Hara to the fading sun, that as God is our witness, we will get up to speed on all the major nominations. Let's face it, the show's no fun if you have no opinion on who won which award, which is how it's been for us in recent years. Well, no more. We are bloggers, dammit! We will have an opinion both on Annette Bening's dress AND on whether or not she deserves the Oscar! Count on it, bitches! We've just got a lot of catching up to do. We planned on seeing both Black Swan and The King's Speech this weekend. We saw the latter on Saturday afternoon (we laughed, we cried; it became a part of us), but by the time Sunday and its near-single-digit temps rolled around, staying home and ordering in seemed a better idea. We'll catch it before the weekend. The Kids are All Right is OnDemand, so we'll check it soon. We've seen Inception, many, many times. We'd like to see True Grit and The Social Network ASAP, too. We don't know how many more we'll be able to fit in, but we're gonna give it our all, bitches.Et vous? What say the commentariat on the respective nominees? Which of the major pictures have you seen? Want to see? Couldn't pay you to see?Discuss.[Photo Credit: getty, elle.com]Post a CommentLabels:
